Five Decades of Protecting People Through Better Cleaning & Training

I started in the hospitality industry at 15, washing dishes in a bustling Midwest restaurant. Back then, I thought cleaning was just another task. Then, a Thanksgiving meal served at the restaurant made more than 40 people violently ill, and one person passed away. I witnessed the panic, the pain, and the consequences of improper sanitation. That moment stayed with me for life.
It taught me a truth I have carried for five decades:
Cleaning isn’t a chore. It’s a responsibility. And it protects lives.

FROM DISHWASHER TO TRAIN-THE-TRAINER LEADER

That experience started a career that has spanned 50 years across the Midwest and, for the last 11 years, across New England. I’ve worked with:

Highlights Experience

  • Restaurants & catering operations
  • Breweries, dairies & food production
  • Hotels & OPL laundry
  • Distributors & manufacturers

I’ve trained thousands of people — from dishwashers to supervisors, from line cooks to distributor reps. What I learned is simple:People don’t fail because they’re careless. They fail because no one taught them the why behind the what. That’s why today I focus heavily on train-the-trainer development — helping leaders, managers, and reps teach cleaning processes the right way, so they can impact hundreds of people over their careers.

WHAT I DO TODAY

I help leaders, supervisors, and distributor reps become confident, effective trainers. My programs simplify complex sanitation processes into clear, teachable steps so trainers can develop stronger teams, reduce mistakes, and positively impact every person they lead.

MY APPROACH

Cleaning should be:

Clear

The cleaning process should be easy to understand, with no confusion about what needs to be done.

Consistent

Tasks should be performed the same way every time, ensuring reliable and repeatable results.

Teachable

The steps must be simple enough for anyone to learn, apply, and pass on to others without complexity.

Understandable

Teams should know not just how to do something, but why it matters, so they make better decisions.

I break complicated chemistry into simple steps that teams can repeat day after day. I teach responsibility without fear, confidence without confusion, and processes that actually work in the field.

WHY I STILL DO THIS

Because I remember that Thanksgiving.
Because I know what happens when sanitation is ignored.
Because five decades later, I still believe every cleaning professional deserves proper training — and every customer deserves safe food, safe facilities, and safe environments.

And because:

I don’t sell chemicals.
My clients purchase confidence in how they clean.
